Parador de Ribadeo

The Parador de Ribadeo offers an excellent viewpoint over the estuary, a Galician mansion at the mouth of the river Eo, which is located in a beautiful fishing and tourist village, surrounded by greenery and overlooking the sea. This magnificent location, on the border between Galicia and Asturias, will let you enjoy unique views of the Galician landscape, the Ribadeo or Eo estuary and the small Asturian villages on the other side of the river. In the hotel, the marine, elegant and well-tended style predominates. The rooms are cosy and the panoramic views, as well as those you´ll discover from the dining room, are splendid. Don’t miss the chance to try the exquisite traditional Galician cuisine, with dishes such as empanada (a local style of pie), lacón (pork shoulder), seafood and Galician wines.

The Ribadeo or Eo estuary, which is part of the River Eo, Oscos and Tierras de Burón Biosphere Reserve, is a natural inlet of great ecological and environmental significance, and also the setting for all kinds of nautical and sporting activities. Here you can try, for example, the variety lateen sailing, the only one of its kind on the entire Spanish coastline.

You’ll be fascinated by the beauty of the beaches along the Ribadó coast, and you mustn’t miss Playa de las Catedrales, which is just ten kilometres from the Parador, and which is considered one of the most spectacular in the world. It has been declared a Natural Monument. It is so called due to a set of cliffs more than 32 metres high which, sculpted by the wind and the sea, form arches and vaults through which the sun’s rays pour, creating a marvellous and unique landscape.

Parador Costa da Morte

The impressive Parador Costa da Morte is the latest to join the Parador Network. A new building located in the Lourido Beach in Muxía, it lies a short distance away from Cape Fisterra, called “the world’s end” by the Romans, and the end of the natural extension of the St. James’ Way. Its contemporary architecture was designed so that guests could enjoy the surroundings from all the spaces in the Parador, with spectacular views of the sea.

The Parador is designed in line with the natural orography of the site with terraces on the hillside, thus drawing attention to caring for the environment and respect for its surroundings. The unevenness of the terrain has been bridged by two new panoramic lifts that move diagonally.

During your stay at the Parador, you’ll discover a breath-taking natural setting with amazing views of the cliffs and stunning beaches where the sea has made an impact over the years, in addition to an extraordinary culinary heritage.

The interior of the Costa da Morte is an extension of its extraordinary landscape. The decoration of each room is inspired by organic shapes, stones and vegetation. Timeless, simple designs that transmit wellbeing and tranquillity. The materials used are the same types of stone and wood used to build the Parador’s structure, respecting the neutral, warm tones that are part of the architecture.

Its integration with its surroundings is the hallmark of this Parador which looks directly onto the sea. All of its rooms have a path leading to the coast, and its restaurant, bar and café share the impressive ocean views. The spa and its glass-walled pool overlooking Lourido beach are also worth a special mention.

MACAN – Wineyard visit and wine testing experience

Bodegas Benjamin de Rothschild & Vega Sicilia was born in 2004 as a result of the union of Tempos Vega Sicilia and the Compagnie Vinicole Barón Edmond de Rothschild. Both companies share the idea of producing great wines in La Rioja, a unique, singular and inimitable wine region. After a period of five years studying terroirs and acquiring vineyards, the project takes shape in 2009: the first vintage of our two wines, Macán and Macán Clásico. The final launch of the brand occurs in 2013, with the release of the first bottles on the market. The last milestone is the construction of the winery, in the town of Samaniego, in operation since 2016.
