Wences Bunge and Ducati Madrid are organizing the second European Real State Ride: RE Ride 2024!

4 days riding + 1 day eBiking/trekking

Get ready for the 1.000 curves through the highest mountains of the Pyrenees, this year!!

Starting in Bidart (Biarritz) to ride on both sides of the Pyrinees passing from France to Spain and back. Four stages specially designed to enjoy riding through some of the highest pass in the Pyrinees; famous due to the Tour d’France. One day to enjoy the wild nature of the Valle de Aran, riding on an eMTB to have a different perspective of the Pyrenees. Charming and luxury hotels&spa to rest and delicious food.

On Monday the trip starts in Bidart (San Sebastian and Biarritz Airports the closest) and finishes in Andorra on Friday the 14th. Any motorcycle is welcome. Due to the type of roads and length of the journey, touring and dual-propose (trail) motorcycles are recommended and a Ducati is preferredAny motorcycle is welcome. Renting a Ducati is available as an option. The service includes a brand new Ducati fully insured (including a franchise in case of accident) and unlimited milage. The motorcycle will be provided with a phone craddle and a cable for power-supply (no GPS device includedRenting a Ducati is available as an option. The daily track will be provided on a GPX format to use on a Gamin device (not included) or a mobile phone using Apps like OsmAnd Maps or any other reading GPX formats. Also it will be provided on a Google Maps format, although its precision might not be accurate enough.

We can transport a mid-size suitcase from point to point on a van.Tour guide on a motorcycle and mechanical assistance included. Mechanical assistance won’t include engine repairs, but jobs required to maintain the motorcycle ready to ride and basic maintenance in case of a flat tyre or malfunctioning (only for Ducati models). We’ll break into groups of 5-7 riders maximum guided by a leader.Every participant is required to have a medical assistance insurance covering an accident in Spain and repatriation as well as an insurance for the motorcycle (road assistance), if not rented, including repatriation and a valid driving license (International driving license for renting a bike is required). It’s up to every participant to have enough riding experience and ride responsibly in any situation.

Conditions for Renting

1. Motorcycle rental starting from age 25
2. Valid ID or passport
3. Credit card for franchise payment
4. Valid type A / A2 driving license in Spanish territory or equivalent international
5. Minimum of 2 years of experience with type A license

Your Responsibility When Renting with Ducati Madrid RENT

1. You are responsible for fines and traffic violations and for damages to the motorcycle if you drive illegally or under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
2. You are liable for damages to the motorcycle up to the full amount of the deductible, except in the case of negligence, misuse, or unauthorized use, in which case you are liable for 100% of the motorcycle’s value plus any damages and injuries caused.
3. You are responsible for the motorcycle until you return it to us, never abandon it, or leave it unattended.
4. You cannot use the motorcycle off-road or on a circuit.
5. If you plan to leave Spain, you must inform us beforehand.
6. If you puncture a tire, you must fix it at your own expense.
7. You must return the motorcycle with a full tank.
8. You must return the motorcycle at the specified time and place, allowing for an additional 2 hours of delay without charge.

Surcharges and Penalties

1. 60% refund for cancellations with 10 days or less notice and 100% refund for cancellations with more than 10 days notice.
2. A surcharge of €70 for reservation modifications with 7 or fewer days notice.No charge for modifications with more than 7 days notice.
3. Full tank deposit €40-60 depending on tank capacity. Partially filled €2/liter.
4. Penalty for extra uncontracted kilometer: €0.60/km.
5. Penalty for delivery with more than 2 hours delay: 1 full day.
6. Penalty for motorcycle recovery: €400.
7. Penalty for delay of more than 1 day in delivery: €600/day.

Parador de Arties (Valle de Arán). Wed+Thrus 12-13th

This charming and historic establishment offers stunning views of the mountainous landscape of the Aran Valley. The Parador de Artíes is set in the heart of the Spanish Pyrenees and is surrounded by forests, snow-capped mountains and green pastures. It is the ideal base for hiking in the area or skiing during the winter months. It is just 7 km from the popular ski resort of Baqueira.

This building is typical of the area and retains a number of charming original features, such as sloping ceilings and exposed wooden beams. Modern facilities include an indoor and outdoor swimming pool, sauna and gym. The heated pool is open from December until Easter.

Sport Hotel Hermitage and Spa and Hermitage Mountain Residences, Leading Hotels of the World, are located just a few metres from the Grandvalira ski lifts in Soldeu and offer stunning rooms and residences (2 or 4 bedrooms) with high quality furnishings and Egyptian cotton bedding. Luxury touches are also provided in the room and common areas. Free WiFi is available throughout the property (with the option to purchase premium internet services for a fee in the room).

Other services include free and/or paid ski mountaineering activities or shuttle service in premium vehicles and/or helicopter (both services must be booked prior to arrival and are subject to surcharges). Each participant will arrive to Bidart on their own. It could be riding your bike from Madrid or flying to San Sebastian or Biarritz airports and from there taking a taxi to Bidart (10′ ride).
We’ll have dinner all together to greet friends and comment on this new adventure. Briefing to be provided during the dinner.

Starting early in the morning we’ll ride through the vasque Pyrenees with a very unique architecture and wonderful landscaping. Probably the most beautiful stage in terms of the charming villages we’ll go through.
We will stay at the old train station connecting Spain and France that was recently refurbished and turned into a luxury hotel. It’s located in a valley close to Somport pass in Spain

From Canfranc we’ll continue our ride South into Huesca (Spain) entering into France through Portalet pass. Then we’ll go North to Laruns and through some of the most famous mountain-passes of the Tour d’France, like the Torumalet.
Our final destination will be at the Valle de Aran, where Baqueira ski resort is. We’ll stay at the local Parador in Arties for a couple of nights.

For the most intrepid and sporty ones we’ll rent an eMTB (electric mountain bike) and go up in the mountains riding on beautiful trails until the battery runs out! Or you can go trekking and enjoy the wild nature surrounding you. We’ll generate tones of endorphins and strengthen the sense of friendship biking all together. Bring your biking gear (cycling shoes/snikers, coulotte and gloves; helmet can be provided by the organization). The track and challenge will be up to your skills and capabilities, don’t expect anything radical or extreme, unless you’re a pro…!!

We’ll have a delicious BBQ for lunch all together to get some calories back, and rest at the local Parador one more night.

Arties to Andorra

The last stage of the trip through the Pyrenees will depart from Arties to get into France and enter Andorra from the North (France).
We’ll stay at one of the “Leading Hotels of the World”, where relaxing in the Spa and having an amazing dinner to dismish friends and exchange memories from this adventure.

Andorra to Barcelona and back to home

After breakfast each participant will return home on his own (nothing arranged). For the ones renting a bike we’ll ride to Barcelona, arriving around lunch time to Ducati Barcelona to drop the bikes, so you can get on a flight back home in the afternoon or stay in Barcelona. For the rest of the riders you can go straight back to Madrid from Andorra if you prefer.

The participant claims to be aware that the activity in which they have enrolled may be dangerous and acknowledges that they have been informed by the provider of all the characteristics of the activity and carry out the same with full knowledge. The participant in the activity must have contracted and in force a mandatory vehicle insurance for the motorcycle with which he participates in this trip. Likewise, he will be responsible for his belongings, physical integrity, vehicle and third parties during the activity, exonerating the company Sport Motorbike Madrid, S.L. and its organizers. In the event of a breakdown or accident, the participant will be responsible for having the necessary roadside assistance and health services.
